This is a circular walk using forest tracks and unmarked hillside. First part is on forestry track then a steep climb up through the forestry which happen to be a fire break following the route of a small stream as you near the top, the trees start to thin out and then you are onto the open hill. Its at this stage of the walk if visibility is bad you will have to navigate using map and compass. Keep heading up hill and you will pick up the old fence line which is indicated on the Explorer 1:25,000 map. You can use this fence line as  a handrail and follow it to the trig point on Bishops Seat.

From Bishops Seat on a clear day you have excellent views up and down the river. From there head down to Horse seat and pick up the Berry Burn and then to forestry track which will take you down to the reservoir and back to the main road.
